Exercise is no longer an OPTIONAL.
It is true. You have to say it to yourself that exercise is no longer an optional. You have to face the reality that, we are lacking of exercise in our life. Maybe, because of:
a. High-tech technologies
-because technologies make our life better and EASIER, we don’t have to exercise regularly. We become LAZY. Isn’t this true?
b. Tired from work and school
-many of us thinking that if we are already tired from work and from school, exercising is not the best way to relieve our stress. That we will get more stress by exercising. That exercise will add more headaches to us.
Your reason is not accepted! (nyay! :])
Let me tell you a story of mine; last mid year. June 2008.
I was a big, chubby, and asthmatic-like person. My tummy has an abs. a big abs. ha ha. Every time I ran, I feel like the air in my system is running out and my breathing can’t support it. My classmate told me that I have to do body building.
So I register on a fitness station (literally, it is the gym’s name!). I have to do my new routine!
- 12 minutes of cardiorespiratory exercise (bike or treadmill)
- 5 minutes stretching
- barbell curls; 3 sets; 12 repetitions
- Side Dumbbell Lateral Raises; 3 sets; 12 reps
- Barbell Upright Rows; 3 sets; 12 reps
- bench press; 3 sets; 12 reps
- lat pull down(front); 3 sets; 12 reps
- lat pull down(back); 3 sets; 12 reps
- leg raises; 3 sets; 15 reps
- leg curls;3 sets; 15 reps
- leg press; 3 sets; 15 reps
- crunches; 3 sets; 15 reps
- cool-down (bike or treadmill)
That’s my everyday routine on my body building class. Look like exhausting, but hell, my body is still craving for that routine. until now!
Sometimes, I body build after my classes. And instead of feeling tired and stressed, I feel refreshed. I feel revitalized. Instead of feeling lack of energy, i feel the other way, i feel full of energy!
But suddenly, after two months of going to gym, i stopped body building. Because of the registration fee. And of the hectic schedule of mine. I’m looking forward to go back again in body building.
Exercising is not a hard task. It will not kill you, nor to feel you stressed. Exercising is a good start of a good life. Exercising is a good start of a good career.
Also, as per Penelope, Exercising is not only about getting fit of your physical body, But exercise can boost your Intelligence Quotient too!
Exercise can help you perform better at work and at school. Because of, you feel more alert. You feel more sensitive, you feel you’re brain is working better!
Just choose wisely where and when do you exercise. One place I recommend is on a Cemetery. Cemetery is a peaceful place and have good surroundings. You can jog there for several hours and do a lot of stretching. Just don’t do it when evening! Maybe other souls will jog with you too!
But one thing is for sure. Exercise is great for our body and great for our mind.
